We’re "Good News" People embracing our neighborhood for Christ!
Located at 701 W. Broadway Ave. in Anaheim, Calif., just one mile north of Disneyland in the heart of Orange County, First Baptist Church continues to respond to the many challenges in presenting the whole "Gospel" to a world in need. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Established as a congregation in 1922, First Baptist Anaheim has been both theologically and historically connected as a member congregation within the American Baptist Churches, USA. More recently, we have become covenanted with "Transformation Ministries," a new Association of Baptist churches in the Pacific Southwest that remains committed to the basic tenets of our Christian faith. Our Vision for ministry here at First Baptist is threefold:
1) Congregational Care
We seek to provide care and ministry to the several generations that make up our church family. Our most recent new outreach to adults is our "Prime Time 55+" monthly gatherings on the first Tuesday of each month. (See link to "Prime Time")
2) Youth and Family Ministry
Sunday mornings, mid-week, and weekend activities highlight the many groups that seek to connect with and encourage our kids, youth, parents and families to grow in Gods Word. (See links to "Youth Group" and "Family Ministry")
3) Multi-Cultural Ministry
In addition to individual Filipino, Indonesian and Vietnamese congregations that worship at 701 W. Broadway each week, we have a Spanish speaking worship service and ministry here at First Baptist Church, reflecting our desire to reach out and care for those in the Hispanic community.
To reflect this inclusive nature of our ministry in a multi-cultural setting, our ministry site at 701 W. Broadway is now identified as "Broadway Christian Center." We've done this to communicate to our neighborhood the diversity of our ministries and our desire to be seen as a center for the many activities that glorify God.
